Public and private addresses
Products in the same DLEZ organization communicate through private endpoints, including products in different projects. Use the destination service's private host and port. Your laptop and browser are external clients even when you are signed in to Console; use a public endpoint for external access. Keep credentials on the server and follow the service's TLS requirements.
MySQL also provides a database/schema name. Redis commonly uses the default username, but copy the actual credentials shown. Private reachability does not replace database authentication.
Terminal
Terminal opens a database session from Console for basic connectivity checks and queries without copying credentials to your laptop. Use non-destructive test queries and check the selected database before running commands.
Dashboard
Open Metrics or the database dashboard to inspect resource usage and state for the selected service. Use the specific MySQL/Redis limit guides to interpret the charts.
